Dear Team,
I’m excited to share an update on the progress of our Feeding Center construction in the El Cristal community, Matagalpa. Over the past month and so, we have made meaningful and tangible progress, and it has been inspiring to witness the community come together around this vision.
Here’s what has been accomplished so far:
Land search and purchase: After careful consideration, we successfully identified and purchased the land where the Feeding Center will be built.
Municipal construction permits: We obtained the necessary authorization from the municipality, allowing us to move forward.
Community land preparation: This has been the most demanding phase so far. The land required extensive clearing and preparation, and the response from the community has been incredible.
Community involvement: Children, women, and men have all participated. Everyone has contributed by cleaning, clearing, organizing spaces, and helping prepare the foundation for what will soon serve their own families.
Construction materials purchase: We have begun purchasing and organizing the necessary materials to move into the next stage.
What has touched me most is the sense of ownership and unity. Seeing the children alongside their parents working with joy and expectation reminds us why this project matters so much.
I have created a shared Drive folder with videos and pictures documenting the journey from the very beginning. I encourage you to take a few minutes to look through it. https://drive.google.com/
Thank you for being part of this mission. Your support, dedication, and belief in this project are helping turn hope into something tangible.
Psdt: Sara, some of the pics and videos can be used for social media; feel free to share whatever helps funding!
Let’s keep moving forward together!
