Mission Trip to Poland: A Summer of Hope and Adventure for Displaced Ukrainian Children

Mission Trips

Frontier Horizon had the privilege of embarking on a mission trip to Poland, where we spent a week with 290 displaced Ukrainian children living in an orphanage. Though these children are now away from the immediate dangers of war, they continue to face the challenges of being uprooted from their homeland. Our mission was clear: to bring them a sense of joy, adventure, and community, reminding them that they are not forgotten.

A Week to Be Kids Again

Thanks to a generous $22,000 grant from the Brouwer Foundation, we were able to provide a week packed with fun and meaningful activities. The children participated in outdoor adventures, spent time exploring nature, engaged in crafts, and enjoyed bonding with new friends. For many, it was a rare chance to escape the uncertainty of their lives and experience the carefree moments of childhood. The trip was filled with laughter, creativity, and new discoveries—an invaluable respite for kids who have been through so much.

Beyond Fun: Addressing Critical Needs

While our primary goal was to offer these children a week of joy, our team also remained vigilant in identifying other areas where we could provide support. During our time there, we identified two children who require follow-up medical care. Plans are underway to ensure they receive the treatment they need, reflecting our ongoing commitment to their well-being, even after the mission trip has ended.

Not Forgotten: Continuing Support for Displaced Children

Though these children are now in Poland, away from Ukraine’s conflict zones, they still need love, attention, and support. The mission trip reminded us of the resilience and strength these kids carry and underscored the importance of ongoing care and assistance. Our goal is to show these children that, no matter where they are, they are seen and valued—and that there are people around the world dedicated to supporting them.

A Heartfelt Thanks

This mission trip wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Brouwer Foundation and the dedicated team of partners and volunteers who joined us. Together, we brought smiles to 290 young faces, and with the community’s help, we’ll continue finding ways to make a difference in their lives.

SPECIAL THANKS

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Brouwer Foundation and our incredible partners and volunteers, whose generosity made this mission trip possible. Their support allowed us to bring joy, adventure, and critical care to 290 Ukrainian children displaced by conflict. Thanks to their commitment, these kids experienced a week of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Together, we are showing them that they are not alone and that their futures are filled with hope.
