A Week of Joy and Healing: Camp Dreamland Winter 2025

120 Ukrainian Kids. 1 Life-Changing Week.

In the face of uncertainty and war, Camp Dreamland Winter 2025 became a refuge for 120 Ukrainian children who were given the chance to just be kids again. Thanks to the generosity of Frontier Horizon supporters, these children enjoyed a week filled with games, dancing, crafts, singing, friendship, and fun.

From the moment they stepped off the train to their final goodbyes, Camp Dreamland was buzzing with energy. Children reunited with old friends, met new ones, and experienced the kind of joy that war can so easily steal.

A dedicated team of 15 local camp counselors, along with Frontier Horizon founder Vinny, and board members Mike Brady and Jon Cline, helped make this camp an unforgettable experience. Counselors not only led activities but also quietly and compassionately assessed children’s needs, identifying those who might require additional physical or mental health support.

One of the most powerful moments of the week was a virtual student exchange between youth in the United States and Ukraine. Facilitated by Frontier Horizon, this event gave children a chance to ask questions, share their lives, and build cross-cultural connections. It reminded us all that compassion knows no borders.

At Camp Dreamland, children participated in everything from arts and crafts to team games and singing and dancing—activities that, while simple, offered something profound: a sense of normalcy and joy.

Camp Dreamland is more than a winter camp. It’s a lifeline, a memory-maker, and a reminder to every child that they are seen, loved, and not forgotten.
